The free, self-guided museum educates over 50,000 visitors annually on the Federal Reserve’s role and the history of currency, featuring interactive exhibits like designing your own dollar bill and a photo booth with a money-themed background. Highlights include lifting a 27-pound gold bar, valued at nearly $400,000, viewing a stack of $40 million in $100 bills, and exploring the 450-piece Harry S. Truman Coin Collection, on loan from the Truman Library. Visitors can observe cash processing operations through windows and take home a free bag of shredded U.S. currency. The museum’s app offers virtual tours and scavenger hunts, enhancing engagement. Open Monday–Friday 9:30 AM–4:00 PM (last entry 3:30 PM), it’s closed weekends and bank holidays, with airport-style security requiring ID for guests 18+.
