About KC Mobility Scooter Rentals

KC Mobility Scooter Rentals LLC is a veteran-owned hospitality rental operation serving the full Kansas City metropolitan area from our fleet in Leavenworth, Kansas. We rent mobility scooters and wheelchairs the way rental cars and hotel rooms are rented — with zero medical paperwork, zero insurance reconciliation, and zero prescription requirements.

Founder

KC Mobility Scooter Rentals LLC was founded in 2023 by Jeffrey Guzman, a retired U.S. Army veteran with 20 years of military service. Service didn't end at retirement — it evolved into a different form of serving the community. The business was built on one principle: mobility equipment rental should be hospitality-simple.

Why this matters to us

Here's the moment we're really in business for: someone who'd quietly decided to sit this one out — the reunion, the ballgame, the trip they'd been looking forward to — rolls up to the front door instead and does the whole day with everyone else. Keeping up with the grandkids instead of watching from a bench. At the table, not back at the hotel. We don't rent metal; we hand back a day someone thought they'd have to miss.

It matters just as much to the person who booked it. If you're arranging this for someone you love, the worry — will it show up, will it fit, will they be okay — is the part we're here to take off your plate. A real person answers the phone. The equipment arrives clean, charged, and set up. You get to enjoy the visit. That's the freedom we're really delivering: not a scooter, but the day — and the peace of mind around it.

Call, reserve, receive delivery, use the scooter, hand it back. No medical chart, no prescription, no insurance hoops. The transaction sits in the same category as renting a car or booking a hotel — not in the durable-medical-equipment (DME) category that most mobility rental falls into.

A real person picks up — and shows up

One story tells you everything about how we work. A daughter-in-law reached Jeff around midnight on a Saturday — the family's elderly loved one couldn't work her wheelchair, and every medical-supply store in town was dark until Monday. Jeff answered. By 9 AM Sunday, a wheelchair was at her care facility. In her words:

“I was able to reach him about midnight on a Saturday night… He had a wheelchair delivered to her care facility by 9 AM on Sunday morning. That's amazing and totally unheard of these days.”

— Janet K., verified review

That's the whole promise, and it isn't a slogan — it's the pattern our customers keep describing. Patti reached us on a Friday night and had a scooter in about two hours. Sheila needed a wheelchair the same day for an event, and we drove it 45 minutes from Kansas into Missouri to get the exact size right. A real person answers when others are closed, and the equipment shows up — nights, weekends, holidays, short notice.

This is also why we're the mobility rental Kansas City trusts most. Trust isn't something you can buy or launch — it's built one honest rental at a time. Ours shows up as 48 verified reviews averaging 5.0 stars, as the hotel concierges and senior communities who send guests straight to us, and as the returning renters who don't shop around anymore. A national booking site can't be from Kansas City, and a supply store can't answer on Sunday — so when it matters most, the local owner who picks up the phone is the difference. What we do

We rent mobility scooters and wheelchairs across the Kansas City metropolitan area plus Northeast Kansas and Northwest Missouri:

Who we work with

Hospitality positioning, in plain terms

Mobility equipment rental splits into two distinct categories, and most renters don't know the difference until they've been through both:

Durable medical equipment (DME) rental operates under Medicare / Medicaid / insurance billing frameworks — prescriptions, medical documentation, prior-authorization paperwork, covered equipment. That's the right fit when insurance is paying for long-term equipment.

Hospitality rental — what we do — skips that entire layer. Direct-paid rental. No prescription, no insurance, no medical chart interaction. Works for visitor weekends, convention stays, post-surgical short-term recovery, ADA workplace accommodations, and every other scenario where the renter (or their family, or their employer) is paying directly.

If you need insurance-covered equipment, we'll refer you to a DME provider. For direct-paid rental, we're your straightforward option. See how to choose a Kansas City rental for the full comparison.

Why the Kansas City metro

Kansas City has a concentration of visitor-facing venues — Bartle Hall, the T-Mobile Center, Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, Arrowhead and Kauffman Stadiums, CPKC Stadium, Children's Mercy Park, Kansas Speedway, Worlds of Fun, the Plaza, Crown Center, Union Station, the Overland Park Convention Center — that draw visitors for whom mobility equipment makes the trip work. The metro also has an older residential population in inner-ring suburbs where post-surgical and temporary-mobility rental is a steady local need.

We're positioned at the Leavenworth edge of the metro, which keeps us outside the most congested delivery routes while still inside practical driving range of every major KC venue and hotel.
