Kansas City mobility rental — frequently asked questions

Straight answers on pricing, delivery, booking, equipment, and policies for renting a mobility scooter, wheelchair, knee scooter, or rollator anywhere in the Kansas City metro. Prefer to talk it through? Call 913-775-1098.

Pricing & rates

How much does it cost to rent a mobility scooter in Kansas City?
Mobility scooters rent daily, weekly, and monthly. The Pride Go-Go Traveller (3- or 4-wheel) starts at $45/day, $180/week, $400/month; the Pride Go-Go Sport and Go-Go LX with CTS suspension run $50/day, $200/week, $425/month; and the heavy-duty Pride Victory 10 is $60/day, $240/week, $500/month. You're automatically charged the lowest applicable rate for your dates, plus a delivery fee by zone. Reserve online for an exact total or call 913-775-1098.
How much does it cost to rent a wheelchair, knee scooter, or rollator?
Manual wheelchairs (16", 18", 20", 22", and the 24" bariatric), knee scooters, rollators/walkers, and transport chairs are $50 per week or $100 per month. These categories don't have a daily rate — one week is the minimum. The bariatric 24" wheelchair holds up to 500 lb.
How do I get the lowest rate?
You don't have to do anything — the system compares the daily, weekly, and monthly rates (and every combination) and automatically charges the cheapest possible total. A 10-day scooter rental bills as one week plus a few days if that beats ten daily rates. Any promo or partner discount comes off on top of that lowest combination.
Is delivery included, and how much is it?
Delivery is priced separately by zone based on driving distance from our Leavenworth, KS fleet — we'd rather show it as its own line than bury it in a higher rate: Local $25 (0–10 miles), Metro $50 (11–30 miles), Regional $75 (31–50 miles), Extended $75 + $3/mile (51+ miles). Your exact delivery fee is shown before you confirm. You can also pick up at the shop to skip the delivery fee.
Is there a minimum rental period?
Mobility scooters have no minimum — a single-day rental is fine for a game day, a Plaza Lights evening, or a one-day event. Wheelchairs, knee scooters, rollators, and transport chairs have a one-week minimum (no daily rate).

Equipment & fit

What mobility equipment can I rent?
Mobility scooters (3-wheel and 4-wheel Pride Go-Go Traveller, Go-Go Sport, Go-Go LX with CTS suspension, and heavy-duty Victory 10), manual wheelchairs in 16"–24" seat widths including a 500 lb bariatric model, knee scooters, rollators/walkers, and lightweight transport chairs.
What is the heaviest-duty option / weight capacity?
The 24" bariatric wheelchair holds up to 500 lb — the highest capacity in the fleet. Among scooters, the Pride Victory 10 supports up to 400 lb, and the Go-Go Sport and LX models up to 325 lb. If you're unsure which model fits, call us and we'll match one to the rider's size and use.
Should I get a 3-wheel or 4-wheel scooter?
A 3-wheel scooter has a tighter turning radius — better for indoor use, tight aisles, and hotel hallways. A 4-wheel scooter is more stable on uneven ground, ramps, and outdoor terrain, making it a better fit for stadiums, festivals, and the Country Club Plaza. Both are available in the Go-Go Traveller and Go-Go Sport lines.
Do I need a prescription or insurance to rent?
No. This is a hospitality rental service, not a medical provider — no prescription, insurance, doctor's note, or medical paperwork is required. You simply reserve the equipment for your dates.

Delivery & service area

What areas do you serve?
The entire Kansas City metro on both the Kansas and Missouri sides, delivered from our Leavenworth, KS fleet — including Overland Park, Leawood, Olathe, downtown KC, the Country Club Plaza, the convention district, and area hotels. Delivery fees are set by zone based on driving distance.
Do you deliver to hotels and convention centers?
Yes — hotel and convention-hotel delivery is one of our most common requests. We deliver the equipment to the hotel bell stand or your room on your arrival day and pick it up when you leave, so it's waiting for you and off your plate at checkout.
Do you offer same-day delivery?
Often, yes, depending on availability and your location. Same-day works best for hotel and metro-core deliveries booked earlier in the day. Reserve online or call us and we'll confirm whether a same-day slot is open for your address.
Do you deliver to the stadium or event venue directly?
No — delivery is to a hotel, home, or short-term rental, not to the venue itself. Getting the scooter from your hotel to the event and back is your own transportation (personal vehicle, rideshare, or rolling from a nearby hotel).

Booking & payment

How do reservations work, and when do I pay?
You submit a request online — no payment up front. We review and accept it (usually within a business day), then email a secure payment link due within 48 hours; your reservation is confirmed once it's paid. There's no separate deposit-plus-balance — the booking payment is the rental payment. We never collect payment at delivery; the only place we take in-person payment is at our staffed event booths.
What payment methods do you accept?
Major credit and debit cards through the online reservation flow. For partner-invoiced scenarios (HR departments, meeting planners, tour operators), purchase orders and net-30 invoicing are available. Cash is accepted only at staffed event booths.
Can I book equipment for a family member or someone I care for?
Absolutely — many bookings are made on behalf of a parent, spouse, friend, or guest. Just enter the rider's details and delivery address when you reserve. If you're not sure which equipment fits the person you're booking for, call us and we'll help you choose.

Policies & positioning

What is your cancellation policy?
Cancel 7 or more days before your rental start for a 100% refund; 3–6 days out is 75%; 48–72 hours is 50%; under 48 hours is 0% — unless you added the optional $25 Peace of Mind coverage, which returns 75% even inside 48 hours. Full details are shown when you reserve.
What if my travel plans change?
Contact us as early as you can — we can usually adjust delivery timing or extend or shorten a rental. Plans shift, especially when you're coordinating around someone else's trip, and we'd rather flex with you than hold you to a rigid schedule.
Are you a medical equipment (DME) provider?
No. KC Mobility Scooter Rentals is a hospitality rental service, not a medical provider. We don't bill insurance, require prescriptions, or provide medical advice. Our equipment is rented for convenience and personal mobility. If you have health questions about whether a device suits your situation, we encourage you to consult your physician.
