Why only Pride
Because that is what we actually know. Our rental fleet is Pride top to bottom — seven models across the Go-Go and Victory lines — and keeping those units delivered, charged, and working is the daily job. We know which batteries fail first, which charger faults look like a dead scooter but are not, and which noises mean stop riding it now.
A shop that claims every brand is either much bigger than us or guessing. We would rather be genuinely good at one line than mediocre across all of them, and that means telling some callers no.
Two ways to get it fixed
We come to you. Mobile repair across the Kansas City metro, both sides of the state line. This is the one most people want, for an obvious reason: a scooter that will not run is extremely difficult to get into a car, and that is usually the exact problem you are calling about.
Or drop it off. If you would rather bring it to us, we take drop-offs in Leavenworth by appointment. Call 913-775-1098 and we will set a time and give you the address. Appointment only — it keeps us from having your scooter sitting somewhere while nobody is home.
What usually goes wrong
On a scooter that has been in service a few years, the common failures are unglamorous: batteries that no longer hold a charge, a charger that has quit, tires and casters worn past useful, and connections that have shaken loose. Those are the repairs that come up again and again on our own fleet.
Tell us what the scooter is doing — not what you think is broken, just what happens when you switch it on — and we will tell you honestly whether it is something we can fix, roughly what it involves, and whether it is worth doing at all.
What it costs
We are not going to publish a number we cannot stand behind, because a repair price depends on what is actually wrong. What moves it: whether we travel to you or you drop off, whether the job needs a part and which one, and how long it takes once we are into it. Call and describe the symptoms and you will get a straight answer before anyone touches anything.
When the honest answer is "don't"
Sometimes a repair costs more than the scooter is worth — usually an older unit needing batteries and a controller at the same time. We will tell you when that is where yours lands, even though it means no repair job for us. If you want it gone at that point, we haul mobility equipment away free, and if you need something to use in the meantime we rent scooters by the day.
What we don't do
- Other brands — Pride scooters only.
- Power wheelchairs — a different device entirely; we neither rent nor repair them.
- Manual wheelchairs, rollators, knee scooters — we rent these, but repair is Pride scooters only.
- Warranty work — we are an independent repair service, not an authorized warranty centre. If your scooter is still under Pride warranty, start with the dealer who sold it.
