Mobility Scooter Rental for Original Sewing & Quilt Expo Kansas City — Overland Park Convention Center

How mobility scooter and wheelchair rental worked for Original Sewing & Quilt Expo Kansas City (Aug 6 – Aug 8, 2026) at Overland Park Convention Center. Independent local provider — not affiliated with the expo.

From founder Jeff Guzman and the KC Mobility team — Kansas City's veteran-owned mobility-rental operators, serving 20+ metro venues since 2023.

Three days of fabric aisles, notions vendors, quilt displays hung wall to wall, and the class you signed up for across the hall — the Original Sewing & Quilt Expo packs a lot of ground into the Overland Park Convention Center's single exhibit floor, and it's easy to underestimate how much walking that actually adds up to until you're on day two. A scooter delivered to your hotel means you get to every vendor booth and every class on your list without rationing your energy to do it.

Original Sewing & Quilt Expo Kansas City ran August 6–8, 2026 at the Overland Park Convention Center. This event has concluded — this page is kept as a reference. For a current or upcoming OPCC event, see our Overland Park Convention Center guide.

Why a vendor-floor-plus-classes show adds up

OPCC's exhibit hall is one contiguous level — a genuine accessibility advantage, since there are no stairs or escalators to navigate once you're inside — but it also means every fabric vendor, notions booth, and quilt display is reachable only by covering the full floor plan on foot. Add scheduled classes in the meeting rooms on top of vendor-floor browsing, across three full days, and the walking total for a show like this is easy to underestimate in advance.

How delivery works for Expo attendees

We deliver mobility scooters to your Johnson County hotel — never to OPCC itself, since convention loading docks run on show-contractor freight schedules rather than individual rental drop-offs.

For a multi-day OPCC event, we stage the scooter at your hotel's bell stand before your scheduled check-in, with same-day delivery available when you order by 2pm CT. You ride or roll to OPCC each morning; the scooter recharges at your hotel overnight, and we pick up at your hotel on whatever schedule fits your departure.

If you're staying at the Sheraton Overland Park, the hotel connects to OPCC via an interior corridor — you can roll from your room to the show floor without going outside at all. The nearby College Boulevard and 119th Street hotel cluster (Marriott Overland Park, Embassy Suites, Hyatt Place, Holiday Inn) is a short drive away. See the full Overland Park Convention Center accessibility guide for entrance, elevator, and parking detail.

What to rent for three days of vendor aisles and classes

Vendor-hall aisles at a sewing and quilt show tend to be tighter and more tightly packed than a typical trade show, which makes a 3-wheel scooter's smaller turning radius genuinely useful for maneuvering between display racks and notions tables. Compare scooters. If you have a companion attending with you and your days are shorter, a manual wheelchair (16 to 20 inch seat widths) is a simpler, lighter option. Compare wheelchairs.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions.

Frequently asked questions.

Are you affiliated with the Original Sewing & Quilt Expo?
No. We are an independent, locally owned mobility-equipment rental company and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Original Sewing & Quilt Expo or the Overland Park Convention Center. We deliver rental scooters and wheelchairs to attendees.
Can you deliver to the Sheraton Overland Park for the Expo?
Yes — the Sheraton is our most common delivery destination for OPCC events since it connects directly to the convention center via an interior corridor. The scooter is staged at the bell stand before your check-in.
Is a scooter practical in the vendor-hall aisles at a sewing expo?
Yes, though aisles at fabric and notions vendor booths tend to be narrower than a typical trade show. We recommend our 3-wheel scooter for its tighter turning radius in that kind of setting.
Can I book for all three days of the Expo?
Yes — reserve the full August 6-8 range and we deliver once for the whole event, with overnight charging at your hotel between days.
