We've added Grandview, Missouri to our delivery coverage — a south Kansas City metro suburb on the I-49 corridor, with two hotels now on our route, and home to the farm where Harry Truman came of age.
Why Grandview
Grandview sits on the I-49 corridor south of Kansas City, a practical, central location for anyone visiting the south metro rather than a single tourist destination in its own right. Its most notable claim to history is a genuine one: a young Harry S. Truman worked his family's farm here from 1906 to 1917, well before he entered politics, and the Truman Farm Home is preserved today as part of the Harry S. Truman National Historic Site. It's a quieter, less-visited piece of Truman's story than the Independence sites most people know, but a real one.
A Convenient South Metro Base
Beyond the Truman connection, Grandview's real value is its location. Sitting on I-49 just south of the Kansas City core, it's an easy, direct drive to Belton, Raymore, Lee's Summit, and South Kansas City alike — useful for anyone splitting time between family in different parts of the south metro, or attending an event without a clear single home base. Truman Corners, a long-established shopping center at the Grandview/Kansas City line, adds a practical stop for anything you need during a stay.
Hotels We Now Cover
- Holiday Inn Express & Suites Kansas City-Grandview — an IHG property directly on the I-49 corridor
- Comfort Suites Grandview — a Choice Hotels property, also on the I-49 corridor
Both sit within easy reach of Belton, Raymore, Lee's Summit, and South Kansas City.
What You Can Rent
Our fleet covers the full range of mobility needs: 3-wheel and 4-wheel Pride Go-Go mobility scooters (including the heavier-duty Victory 10 for larger riders), manual wheelchairs in 16", 18", and 20" seat widths, knee scooters for post-surgical recovery, rollators and walkers, and lightweight transport chairs. Scooters rent daily with no minimum. Wheelchairs, knee scooters, rollators, and transport chairs run on a one-week minimum.
How Delivery Works
The process is the same everywhere we deliver: reserve online or by phone, and we bring the insured mobility scooter or wheelchair to your hotel's front desk ahead of your check-in, tagged with your name and stay dates. You pick it up at check-in — no separate rental counter, no extra paperwork — and we handle pickup again when your stay wraps up.
Scooters for a Day, Wheelchairs for a Stay
If you only need help getting around for a single event — a wedding reception, a day at a south-metro attraction, a graduation — our daily-rate mobility scooters cover that without locking you into a longer rental. If the need is going to last the whole trip, a wheelchair, rollator, or transport chair on our standard weekly rate usually works out to a better value than trying to book a scooter day by day. We're happy to help you figure out which makes more sense for your specific stay before you book.
Why We Added Grandview Now
Grandview had been a real gap in our south metro coverage — close enough to Belton, Raymore, and Lee's Summit that guests staying here were often headed to the same events and family visits as guests we already served nearby, just without a hotel option of their own on our list. Adding both Grandview hotels closes that gap and gives anyone routing through the I-49 corridor a genuine, covered place to stay with equipment waiting at check-in.
If you're staying in Grandview for a south metro family visit, a Truman history stop, or simply because it's a convenient, central base for the weekend, give us a call — we'll have your scooter or wheelchair waiting at the front desk before you arrive.
The Truman Farm Home Today
The Truman Farm Home is a modest, working farmhouse rather than a grand estate — which is part of what makes it worth visiting. It's a preserved look at the ordinary rural life of a future president more than three decades before he ever held office, run today by the National Park Service as part of the wider Harry S. Truman National Historic Site alongside the more commonly visited Truman home and library in Independence. It's a quiet stop, easy to fold into a longer south-metro visit without needing a full day set aside for it.
Central Enough for Any South Metro Event
Because Grandview sits almost equidistant from several south-metro communities, it works well as a base when your visit doesn't have one single fixed destination — a wedding in one suburb, a family dinner in another, a youth sports tournament in a third. Rather than picking a hotel closest to just one stop, staying in Grandview keeps the whole weekend within a short drive, and having a scooter or wheelchair delivered there means you're not re-arranging equipment logistics every time your plans shift.
