Mobility Scooter Rental Peculiar MO | KC Mobility

KC Mobility Scooter Rentals now delivers insured mobility scooters and wheelchairs to Peculiar, MO, on the far south US-71/I-49 metro corridor.

By Jeffrey Guzman Updated

From founder Jeff Guzman and the KC Mobility team — Kansas City's veteran-owned mobility-rental operators, serving 20+ metro venues since 2023.

We've added Peculiar, Missouri to our delivery coverage — a small Cass County town on the far southern edge of our standard delivery envelope, with one hotel now on our route.

Why Peculiar

Peculiar's name is exactly as unusual as it sounds, and it's a real, verifiable piece of local history rather than a marketing invention — the town was surveyed and platted in 1868 and incorporated in 1953 under that exact name, according to the City of Peculiar's own official history. Beyond the name, Peculiar sits on the US-71/I-49 corridor at the far south end of the KC metro, a practical highway stop for travelers passing between the Kansas City area and points further south rather than a tourist destination in its own right.

Hotels We Now Cover

  • Highland Inn Peculiar — an independent motel on the US-71/I-49 corridor

What You Can Rent

Our fleet covers the full range of mobility needs: 3-wheel and 4-wheel Pride Go-Go mobility scooters (including the heavier-duty Victory 10 for larger riders), manual wheelchairs in 16", 18", and 20" seat widths, knee scooters for post-surgical recovery, rollators and walkers, and lightweight transport chairs. Scooters rent daily with no minimum. Wheelchairs, knee scooters, rollators, and transport chairs run on a one-week minimum.

How Delivery Works

The process is the same everywhere we deliver: reserve online or by phone, and we bring the insured mobility scooter or wheelchair to your hotel's front desk ahead of your check-in, tagged with your name and stay dates. You pick it up at check-in — no separate rental counter, no extra paperwork — and we handle pickup again when your stay wraps up.

The Far Edge of Our Standard Route

Peculiar sits right at the outer boundary of our regular delivery envelope, which is exactly why it had gone uncovered until now — it's close enough to be a real, routine delivery, but far enough that it's easy to overlook when building out coverage city by city. Adding Highland Inn Peculiar means travelers on this stretch of the US-71/I-49 corridor finally have the same hotel-delivery option as the rest of our service area, rather than falling into a gap between Belton to the north and Harrisonville to the south.

An Independent Motel, Same Standard

Highland Inn Peculiar isn't a national chain, but the delivery workflow is identical to any of our branded-hotel stops — reserve ahead, we deliver to the front desk before your check-in, tagged with your name and stay dates, and it's ready when you arrive. There's nothing different about the equipment or the process just because the hotel itself is independently owned.

If you're passing through Peculiar on the US-71/I-49 corridor and need a scooter, wheelchair, knee scooter, rollator, or transport chair waiting at your hotel, give us a call — we'll have it ready before you check in.

A Small Market Worth Getting Right

We could have skipped Peculiar and told ourselves the market was too small to matter, but that's exactly the kind of thinking that leaves real people without an option when they need one. A single independent motel is still a hotel full of guests who might need a scooter or wheelchair for a family visit, a work trip, or simply a long drive that's aggravated a bad hip — and there was no reason those guests should have less access to reliable delivery than someone staying at a Marriott twenty miles closer to the metro core.

What to Expect at an Independent Property

Highland Inn Peculiar doesn't have a corporate brand standard dictating how front-desk hand-offs work, so we coordinate directly with the property when you book — confirming the exact hold procedure and your arrival window so the equipment is ready and accounted for the moment you check in. It's a small extra step on our end, invisible to you, that keeps the delivery just as reliable as it would be at any branded chain on our route.

Between Belton and Harrisonville

Peculiar sits almost exactly halfway between Belton to the north and Harrisonville to the south, which makes it a genuinely practical stop if your trip touches both — a family spread across the corridor, a work route that runs the length of it, or simply a long drive that needs a break partway through. Whatever brings you through, the same insured, same-day delivery applies here as anywhere else on our route.
