Leavenworth is where our fleet actually lives — our home base sits right on Pennsylvania Avenue — so it's long overdue that we formally expand hotel delivery coverage here. Starting today, we deliver insured mobility scooters and wheelchairs directly to hotels across Leavenworth, from the historic downtown district to the Fort Leavenworth corridor.
Why Leavenworth Needed Its Own Coverage
Most of our marketing has understandably focused on the Kansas City metro — downtown, the Plaza, Crown Center, Overland Park. But Leavenworth sees real visitor traffic of its own: families visiting Fort Leavenworth for official Army business or to see a soldier off, guests attending events at the VA, and leisure travelers drawn to Leavenworth's genuinely walkable 28-block historic downtown along Delaware and Shawnee Streets — more than 70 shops, restaurants, and galleries in a well-preserved 19th-century business district along the Missouri River.
If you're one of them and getting around on foot is hard, we now deliver the same insured, same-day mobility scooter and wheelchair rentals to your Leavenworth hotel that we've delivered across the KC metro for years.
Hotels We Now Cover
We deliver to every major hotel in Leavenworth, including:
- Hampton Inn by Hilton Leavenworth and Home2 Suites by Hilton Leavenworth — both genuinely walkable to downtown's Delaware Street shops and restaurants
- Leavenworth Local Hotel — an independent boutique property right on Shawnee Street, in the heart of downtown
- Fairfield Inn & Suites Leavenworth and TownePlace Suites by Marriott Leavenworth — in the newer North 4th Street commercial corridor
- Holiday Inn Express Fort Leavenworth — the only hotel on the Fort Leavenworth Army installation itself, for official travel and family visiting soldiers stationed there
Each hotel has its own delivery page with hotel-specific accessibility details and what's actually nearby — because a downtown Delaware Street stay and a Fort Leavenworth stay are very different visits.
How Delivery Works
The process is the same one we've used across the KC metro for years: reserve online or by phone, we deliver the scooter or wheelchair to your hotel's front desk ahead of your check-in, tagged with your name and stay dates. You pick it up when you check in — no rental counter, no separate paperwork at the hotel. When your stay ends, we pick the equipment back up.
For Fort Leavenworth specifically, since the installation requires a valid pass or sponsor to enter, we coordinate access details with you ahead of time so delivery isn't held up at the gate.
What You Can Rent
Our fleet covers the full range of mobility needs, not just scooters: 3-wheel and 4-wheel Pride Go-Go mobility scooters (including the heavier-duty Victory 10 for larger riders), manual wheelchairs in 16", 18", and 20" seat widths, knee scooters for below-the-knee injuries and post-surgical recovery, rollators and walkers, and lightweight transport chairs. Scooters rent daily — no minimum, so a single-day visit works fine. Wheelchairs, knee scooters, rollators, and transport chairs run on a one-week minimum. Everything is delivered clean, charged, and insured, with no rental-counter visit required at any hotel.
Leavenworth VA Medical Center
The Dwight D. Eisenhower VA Medical Center sits on South 4th Street Trafficway in Leavenworth, part of the VA Eastern Kansas Healthcare System — a real destination in its own right for veterans traveling in for appointments, and one more reason families end up needing a hotel-delivered scooter or wheelchair here rather than just downtown or on post.
Downtown Leavenworth, On Foot
If you're staying at one of our downtown-adjacent hotels, a scooter genuinely opens up the whole district — the 1918 C.W. Parker Carousel and its two-story carnival museum, the riverfront walking path at Leavenworth Landing, and a downtown restaurant scene that runs from Jamaican food to classic American breakfast spots like The Depot. It's a walkable downtown in the way a lot of small Midwest cities used to be and mostly aren't anymore — worth exploring at your own pace rather than rushing through on tired feet.
A Veteran-Owned Business, Serving Its Own Hometown
KC Mobility Scooter Rentals is veteran-owned, and Leavenworth — Army town that it is — has always been close to what we do. Extending real hotel-delivery coverage here, instead of treating it as an afterthought to the KC metro, felt like the right next step. Whether you're here for a downtown weekend, official business on post, or an appointment at the VA, the same insured, same-day process applies: reserve, we deliver to your hotel, you pick up at check-in. If you're heading to Leavenworth and need a scooter, wheelchair, knee scooter, rollator, or transport chair waiting at your hotel, give us a call and we'll get it there.
