By KC Mobility Scooter Rentals Updated

Skilled nursing facility administrators across the Kansas City metro: this is the page for liquidation pickups. Wing decommissions, full-floor cleanouts, license-change shutdowns, ownership transitions, full-building closures. We've done all of them.

The four liquidation patterns we see

1. Renovation / wing decommission (15-30 items)

The facility is updating a wing — new flooring, new beds, new bathrooms. The existing fleet for that wing comes out: wheelchairs, walkers, hospital beds, bedside commodes, hoyers. We schedule a single visit, bring the right truck, take the whole wing's inventory in one trip.

2. Full-floor cleanout (50-80 items)

A full floor is being repurposed (memory care to private rooms, SNF to ALF, etc.). All resident-room equipment plus common-area equipment (lifts, transfer benches, shower chairs) comes out. Two-day pickup window typical for this size.

3. License-change transition

When a facility changes from skilled nursing to a lower level of care, regulatory requirements for equipment shift. Some equipment is no longer needed (medical-bed quantity caps drop, lift quantities change). We pick up the surplus.

4. Full-building closure (200+ items)

The facility is closing — sale, demolition, ownership change. Everything goes. Mobility equipment, transfer equipment, ramps, stair lifts, batteries. We coordinate a multi-day pickup window with phased loading. Typically batched with a metal recycler for the building's loose steel/aluminum.

What we'll pick up

Free haul-away (or flat-fee for non-recoverable inventory):

  • Mobility scooters (any brand)
  • Manual + power wheelchairs (any brand, including bariatric)
  • Walkers, rollators, transport chairs, knee scooters
  • Hospital beds (manual, semi-electric, full electric, bariatric)
  • Hoyer lifts, patient lifts, sit-to-stand machines
  • Bedside commodes, transfer benches, shower chairs
  • Wheelchair ramps (aluminum or metal)
  • Stair lifts (installed or uninstalled — we haul as-is)
  • Mobility batteries (recycled at licensed lead/lithium recyclers)
  • Loose components (chargers, joysticks, control modules, replacement parts)

We do NOT pick up:

  • Oxygen concentrators (regulated DME, needs compliant route)
  • IV poles, programmable medication carts (Class II/III)
  • Networked devices with stored patient data (we don't transport equipment with un-wiped patient data — your team handles wiping; we coordinate with your compliance officer if relevant)
  • Anything outside mobility / transfer scope

Pricing

Free pickup when the inventory mix includes refurbishable items. We recover trip costs through refurbishment, parts harvest, and battery recycling at licensed channels.

Flat fee for pickups that are entirely worn-out / non-recoverable (rusted frames, dead batteries, beds beyond repair). Quoted per-pickup, not per-item.

The quote we send you in writing is the final number. No mid-pickup add-ons.

Net 30 with PO

For hospital-system-affiliated SNFs and established facility relationships. We invoice through central purchasing or directly to the facility administrator. Cash-equivalent at pickup is fine for smaller jobs.

Logistics

  • Vehicles: we own a 16-foot box truck and a smaller cargo van. Liquidations 50+ items use both with multiple loads.
  • Crew: two-person standard; four-person on full-building closures.
  • Service-elevator coordination: we work with your facilities team on dock window, elevator hold, and route through the building.
  • Badge check / sign-in: we follow your facility's standard visitor protocol.
  • Pickup list: written description of every item picked up, signed by both parties, PDF copy emailed after.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions.

Frequently asked questions.

Do you handle full nursing-home liquidations?
Yes. Skilled nursing facilities in renovation, license-change, ownership-transition, or full closure are a regular use case for us. We've handled single-wing decommissions (15-30 items), full-floor cleanouts, and whole-building shutdowns (200+ items). The vehicle and crew scale to the inventory.
What's the cost on a liquidation?
Free for typical liquidations where the inventory includes refurbishable items (recent wheelchairs, working hoyers, hospital beds in usable condition). Flat fee for pickups that are entirely worn-out or non-recoverable. We quote in writing before scheduling, no surprises at the loading dock.
What's the lead time for a 200-item liquidation?
Typical lead time is 5-10 business days from approved quote. Same-week turnaround possible for time-sensitive cleanouts. Whole-building closures benefit from advance notice — give us 2-3 weeks if possible so we can sequence the right vehicles and crew.
Can you handle the dock workflow at a hospital-affiliated SNF?
Yes. Service-elevator coordination, loading-dock window scheduling, and badge-check policies vary by facility — we'll work with your facilities team on the specifics. For hospital-system SNFs, we can also coordinate with central purchasing for invoicing.
