We get this question almost as often as "how much is my scooter worth": will you pay me for this wheelchair too, since you're already coming? The honest answer is usually no — and it's worth explaining why, because the reasoning is the same honest-economics logic we use for everything we buy or haul.
What we pay cash for
We pay cash for exactly four Pride Mobility scooter models: the Victory 10, Go-Go Sport, Go-Go Traveller, and LX with CTS Suspension. That's it. Real cash resale ranges and what drives them are broken down model-by-model on our resale value guides.
What we haul away free instead
Everything else — wheelchairs (any brand, any width), rollators, transport chairs, knee scooters, non-Pride mobility scooters, hospital beds, Hoyer lifts, ramps, and stair lifts — we haul away free, not for cash. Full details on the sell or get rid of equipment page.
Why the split
It comes down to whether there's a real path to recover value on the other end. We're a for-profit rental business, not a charity or a junk hauler — to take something off your hands, we need to be able to do at least one of three things with it: refurbish and resell it, put it into our own rental fleet, or harvest usable parts.
Pride scooters have a real cash resale market. There are buyers specifically looking for used Pride Victory 10s, Go-Go Sports, Go-Go Travellers, and LX models, and refurbishing one (new battery, serviced brakes, cleaned upholstery) reliably produces a unit we can resell. That resale spread is where the cash offer comes from.
Generic wheelchairs, rollators, and transport chairs mostly don't. A standard manual wheelchair or rollator is inexpensive new and has very little individual resale value used — there's no cash-buyer market for us to tap the way there is for Pride scooters. We still want them off your hands (they're useful for parts, for our own rental fleet in some cases, or for donation), so we haul them away free rather than leaving you stuck, but we can't write a check for something we can't resell.
Hospital beds, lifts, ramps, and stair lifts are pure logistics. These items are heavy, sometimes require disassembly, and have essentially no individual resale value — the "payment" here is that we make the trip worth doing, often batched with a nearby pickup, and you don't have to find a hauler or pay one.
What this means for you
If you have a Pride scooter and other equipment (a common estate-cleanout or moving-a-parent scenario), tell us everything up front. We'll give you a real cash number for the scooter and haul the rest away free in the same trip — one appointment, one truck, nothing left behind.
If your only item is a wheelchair, rollator, hospital bed, or non-Pride scooter, the free haul-away is the honest offer — not a lowball, just the actual economics of what that category of item is worth on the resale side.
The alternative is worse
We've found people appreciate this kind of plain talk more than the alternative, which is usually either "no, we don't take that" with no explanation, or a junk hauler quoting $300 to clear a single wheelchair from a private home with no guarantee they'll show up. We'd rather tell you honestly what we can and can't pay for, and still take the thing off your hands either way.

What About Rollators, Transport Chairs, and Knee Scooters Specifically?
Same free-haul-away answer as wheelchairs, and for the same reason. A lightweight transport chair or a knee scooter is inexpensive new, has minimal individual resale value used, and there's no dedicated cash-buyer market for us to sell into — so we haul them away free rather than offering cash. Rollators fall in the same bucket, with one caveat: if it's a Medline F-22 Lightweight Euro-Style Rollator in genuinely clean condition, ask us — a limited-market resale channel exists for that specific model, though it's not guaranteed the way Pride scooter cash offers are.
The Math, Briefly
For the four Pride scooter models: refurbished resale price, minus parts (battery, tires), minus labor, minus holding-cost time on the lot, minus our margin, equals your cash offer. That math only works because there's a real refurbished-resale market on the other end.
For wheelchairs, rollators, transport chairs, and knee scooters: there usually isn't a comparable refurbished-resale market at a price point that covers the labor of refurbishing and reselling one. The free haul-away isn't us being stingy — it's the same honest math producing a different answer for a different category of item.
Estate Cleanouts and Moving a Parent
This split matters most in exactly the situations where it comes up — cleaning out a parent's house, moving someone into assisted living, or handling an estate after a loss. These cleanouts often include a mix: maybe a Pride Victory 10 in the garage, a wheelchair by the bed, a hospital bed in a spare room, and a stack of ramps. One call covers all of it. We'll separate what's cash from what's free haul-away before we schedule the pickup, so there's no confusion on the day itself — and we can usually clear an entire property in a single visit.
