How Mobility Scooter Delivery Works for the Lied Center
Standard hotel-delivery workflow. The scooter is delivered to your Lawrence (or Kansas City–area) hotel before your check-in, tagged with your name, and held by the bell stand or front desk. From the hotel, take the scooter to the Lied Center via personal vehicle or rideshare. The scooter rides through the accessible entry, into the main hall, and parks beside your accessible seat for the performance.
Accessibility at the Lied Center of Kansas
The Lied Center is one of KU’s newer and most accessibility-friendly facilities:
- Accessible main entries with automatic doors and level approach.
- Accessible parking in the lot adjacent to the venue with state-issued permits.
- Accessible-seating sections in the main hall with companion seats and adjacent personal-mobility-device space. Allocated separately from general seating — request accessible seating directly when you purchase tickets through Lied Center ticketing.
- Accessible restrooms on the main level.
- Trained guest-services staff familiar with accessibility logistics.
- Hearing-loop assistance is available in the main hall — request when buying tickets if needed.
Best Lawrence hotel for a performance at the Lied Center
The Oread Hotel is closest. The Eldridge Hotel is the downtown social hub for pre-show dinner on Massachusetts Street. Hampton Inn Lawrence and Hilton Garden Inn Lawrence are short-drive chain-brand bases.
Combining a Lied Center performance with other Lawrence events
Many guests book a multi-night Lawrence stay around a combination of events — a Lied Center concert plus KU basketball at Allen Fieldhouse, or a Broadway tour the night before Commencement, or a faculty recital tied to a graduation weekend. The scooter rental covers the entire stay; you’re not paying per event.
For graduation specifically, see our KU Commencement mobility guide.
