Kansas City is a community of people who look out for each other, and a lot of what we do intersects with that directly — veterans who served, seniors navigating a city that isn’t always built for slower pace, family caregivers coordinating from out of town, first responders and teachers who show up for everyone else. This page is the one place that ties all of it together, instead of making you dig through separate pages to find the one that fits.
The one thing worth saying plainly: no gated discounts
We don’t run a separate discount program for veterans, seniors, first responders, teachers, or any other group. We used to have one — a 10% veteran/military/first-responder code — and we turned it off. The reasoning wasn’t that these groups don’t deserve consideration; it’s that a discount code system usually does less for the renter than the alternative: every price published on the equipment page before you book, the same for everyone, nothing to hunt for or verify eligibility on. If you’re comparing us to a competitor advertising a member discount off a number they don’t show you upfront, ask us for our straight price first.
Who this page is for
Veterans and military families — see our dedicated veteran page for VFW, American Legion, DAV, and group/event rental details specific to that community.
Seniors — whether you’re renting for yourself or researching for a parent, our senior-focused page covers the situations that come up most: visiting family, air travel, hotel stays, and getting around Kansas City comfortably.
Family caregivers coordinating a rental for someone they love — see for families & caregivers for booking on someone else’s behalf, from out of town or across town.
First responders and teachers — police officers, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, and educators are welcome to rent the same way anyone else does: the same published price, no verification needed. If your department or school is planning a family day, open house, or community event where mobility equipment would help attendees, call us — we handle group logistics the same way we do for any community event.
Senior centers, activity directors, and veteran posts looking to bring something to their members — see our senior community partnerships page for free battery health clinics, scam-prevention classes, group day-trip rentals, and veteran-to-veteran post presentations from owner Jeff Guzman, a retired U.S. Army veteran.
PT/OT clinics, rehab centers, and discharge planners with a patient who needs short-term equipment between an injury and full recovery — see our clinic referral page for how that referral works, with no paperwork on your end.
What we actually offer
Mobility scooters, manual wheelchairs, transport chairs, knee scooters, and a rollator — delivered to your home, hotel, or short-term rental across the Kansas City metro. No prescription, no insurance paperwork, no proof of eligibility for anything, because there’s no gated tier to qualify for. Same-day delivery is available for orders placed before 2 p.m. local time when capacity allows.
A veteran-owned business, straight through
KC Mobility Scooter Rentals was founded in 2023 by Jeff Guzman, a retired U.S. Army veteran with 20 years of service. He still owns the fleet and answers the phone. That shows up less in a discount code and more in how the business actually runs — a real person handling deliveries, a straight answer when you call, and a genuine interest in the community this business serves, not just the transactions that come through it.
