We get asked about a veteran discount more than almost anything else, so let’s start there: we don’t have one. We used to — a 10% code called HERO — and we turned it off. Not because we stopped caring about serving veterans well, but because the discount was doing less for renters than the alternative: a published price, the same for everyone, with nothing to hunt for. If you’ve shopped mobility rentals before, you know how the industry usually works — call for a quote, mention a code, hope the number that comes back is actually competitive. We built the opposite of that. Every model on our equipment page shows its real weekly and monthly rate. There’s no veteran tier because there’s no gap between what a veteran pays and what anyone else pays to close.
What’s actually true, and what this page is for, is that KC Mobility Scooter Rentals is a veteran-owned business built by someone who understands military life from the inside — and that shows up in ways a discount code never could.
What veteran-owned actually changes about the rental
Jeff Guzman spent 20 years in the U.S. Army before founding this company in 2023. He’s based the fleet in Leavenworth, Kansas — a few minutes from Fort Leavenworth — on purpose. It means a change-of-command ceremony, a PCS move, a CGSC graduation weekend, or a family flying in to visit someone at the VA hospital all read as familiar territory, not a novelty booking. When you call, you’re talking to someone who’s lived the schedule disruptions, the last-minute travel, and the “family’s coming in for the weekend and someone needs help getting around” logistics that military life produces regularly.
It also means when something goes wrong — a battery dies mid-visit, a delivery window needs to shift because a formation ran long — there’s a real owner making the call, not a policy script at a national booking network.
Who this page serves
Veterans who need equipment themselves — recovering from a procedure, managing a mobility condition, or just planning ahead for an event that involves a lot of walking or standing.
Military and veteran families flying or driving in for a Fort Leavenworth ceremony, a graduation, a change of command, or a visit to a loved one being treated at the Eisenhower VA Medical Center in Leavenworth or one of the Kansas City-area VA facilities.
VFW, American Legion, and DAV members and posts — whether you need a scooter for a member attending a post event, or your post is planning a meeting, fundraiser, or reunion and wants equipment on hand. We’ve built dedicated pages for each: VFW, American Legion, and DAV, plus a page specifically for organization and group bookings.
Caregivers and VA facility contacts coordinating on someone else’s behalf — the reservation process doesn’t require the rider to be the one who books it.
No paperwork, in either direction
Just like we don’t gate pricing behind a discount code, we don’t gate the rental behind documentation. No prescription, no insurance claim, no proof of service required to book. It works like a hotel room or a rental car: tell us the dates, the delivery address, and the equipment you need, and it shows up clean and ready. If you’re coordinating for a veteran who can’t easily handle the logistics themselves, that simplicity is usually the whole point.
Serving Leavenworth, Fort Leavenworth, and the wider KC metro
Our home territory is Leavenworth, Kansas — Fort Leavenworth, the Eisenhower VA Medical Center, and the surrounding community — but we deliver across the full Kansas City metro on both sides of the state line. If you’re hosting a veteran family member for a weekend, planning a post event downtown, or flying a parent in to see a specialist, the delivery logistics are the same regardless of which side of the metro you land on.
